Our Essential Beliefs
  • God’s Nature - We believe in one God who is triune in nature. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all one essence, yet are expressed in three eternally distinct persons. God is self-existent, eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, holy, righteous, and loving. By his power God created the universe from nothing.
  • Man’s Nature - We believe that man has both a physical and a spiritual nature. Man was created in God’s spiritual image and had fellowship and communion with God. Through sin, man lost this fellowship and experienced spiritual death. The lingering results of sin explain the presence of suffering, cruelty, and physical death.
  • Salvation - We believe that Jesus Christ - Who is fully God and fully man - was sent by God’s grace to save us from our bondage to sin. We believe that Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, physically rose from the dead, and will one day return to judge the world and deliver His people. Faith in Christ is the only means by which mankind can escape judgment and eternal separation from God. As God's Spirit moves in our hearts we become aware of our sinful nature. By confessing our sin and accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord we are saved by God's grace and receive the Holy Spirit as a sign of our spiritual rebirth. Rom 10:9-10, Eph 1:13-14
  • Authority of Scripture - We believe the Bible is inspired by God. In the original languages it is infallible and without error. The Bible’s authenticity and authority is supported by manuscript evidence, archeological discovery, fulfilled prophesy, and the continuing power of the Holy Spirit to transform lives. The Bible is our primary means of learning God’s will and is our definitive guide for how to live a meaningful and satisfying life.
  • The Church - We believe the church is God's ordained institution and is headed by Christ. The church is composed of all believers, and is organized for worship, for fellowship, for the administration of the sacraments, for spiritual growth and support, and for evangelizing the world.
